History: This powerful theropod lived during the late Cretaceous Period, around 66 million years ago, and was one of the last non-avian dinosaurs before going extinct. Once considered both a predator and a scavenger, scientists now largely agree that the T-Rex was a formidable hunter, preying on other dinosaurs like ceratopsians and ornithopods.
Scientific Name: Tyrannosaurus rex meaning "tyrant lizard" and "king."
